Look Down

This is a low wooden railing that runs along the walking path on my AM walk.  This vine has started to grow against it in places as well as on a lot of the trees - I don’t think this is a good thing.  So very much green in the spring so I tried to dull the color a bit in this one.   

Look Up

Another image in my AM Walk Series.  Maybe a little cheating here as I took this photo a few months ago - before the trees had leaves - but it was on an AM walk.  Photo taken on my iPhone processed on my iPad in iColorama and Procreate.

I love the look of the bare branches against the grey winter sky.  I used iColorama to make the tree image and then Procreate to add a moon, birds and texture.  

Tree On Spring Meadow

The third image in my AM Walk series.  Photo taken on my iPhone processed on my iPad.  Apps used - iColorama, Repix, Laminar, Mextures, Destressed FX, Procreate. 
I also added some additional texture, birds, writing, branch when I assembled the final image in Procreate.

Spring Meadow is one of the main roads in our community and the walking path runs parallel to it.  This photo was taken looking into the storm basin after a rain storm. I really like the texture and painterly feel of this one.  I am enjoying the simplicity of these images.  

Rhodies

My photo taken with my iPhone on my morning walk. Lots of Rhododendrons out in our community. Image processed on my iPad - apps used - MetaBrush, Brushstroke, Repix, Stackables, Procreate. I made quite a few images and then combined them in Procreate to get the look I wanted. I wanted a watercolor painted feel to this one. So my second image in my AM Walk series I am on a roll!

Micky's Flowers

I have decided to take photos every day on my morning walk and process them in different apps on my iPad.  I would like to do one a day for 30 days - but we shall see about that.  These images will be simple and very personal.  I have a tree in my front yard which is a Carolina Silverbell.  In the spring it has beautiful bell shaped flowers that smell wonderful and attract a lot of bees.  I picked a flower bunch and photographed it on white paper with my iPhone.  I processed  it on my iPad. The pod shapes are from another picture I took by the pond.  The tree’s name is Micky.  I want to make painterly/artsy images rather than digital looking work for this series.

Continuing my efforts to make my work look less digital, more painterly and better integrated. The iPad apps are great for a painterly look - I keep coming back to Repix for right now. Textures on this created in Stackables.

Abstracts

So this was an experiment the first image is from about 8 years ago when I actually painted abstract paintings. The second and third images are from ArtRage which I tried to do an abstract work from scratch. Of course I like the original painting best but this was my first try at working in ArtRage on my iPad. So this was fun and I think I will explore it further.  I need to figure out how to get a more brushed look in the digital images.  I actually had that but kind of softened it in Repix.  I am learning but having fun. This makes me want to paint for real again.  I lost my studio when we moved into a smaller house 5 years ago so it is not easy to paint large canvases where I am now.  But it is something to think about.
