Tomorrow is Mother's Day. I lost my mom last October so this will be the first year without her and it is very strange. I would have gone up to PA to see her this weekend but now I don't have to make that trip. I miss her a lot - especially this weekend. So to all you mom's out there, even if you only have furry babies like I do, have a Happy Mother's Day!

Kitchen Roses - May 2012
So I took a little stroll in the yard today and I have roses. I wish I could say I had something to do with growing these but the rose bush was already here when we moved in last year. The top photo is the actual roses in my kitchen window and the bottom is my result of playing around in Photoshop. Both beautiful don't you think! There are a lot of buds still to flower on this little bush and I am excited. I planted lavender on the side of the house and that is getting ready to flower - I love the smell. I am not much of a gardener but I do love flowers.

Playing around on a rainy day. I hope I am learning something but my problem is I don't write down what I do and I change so much as I go along it wouldn't matter even if I did write it down. So is it just best to experiment and see what you get or know what you will get because you've done that before and remember how?? I love to play with Photoshop and wish I had more time but I will take what I can get. I just wish I knew better what I was doing - if that makes any sense.

So I am intrigued by the super moon that is suppose to be visible tonight. Suppose to be I say because it has been so cloudy all day with a light mist and I see no break up of the clouds in sight. So that I won't be disappointed I made my own images of the super moon. I took some good photos of it last year and I combined it with some images of farms in PA and of course added some texture and blending modes in Photoshop. So there, I am having my own personal super moon viewing party.

Playing around a bit with Photoshop this AM. I don't have a lot of time today but here is a quickie rose study. I wish I could say I grew the rose but I didn't but I have a lot of rose buds on my little bush on the side of the house so I should have my own roses soon. I wanted an antique look for this image and I guess I got it - not sure??
