Foresworn

Model - Hannah Colby File
Created on my iPad

I just cannot seem to make the type of image I have in mind - working on my iPad but still thinking Photoshop. I need to maybe spend a month or more just experimenting on the iPad with nothing in mind and no posting to get where I need to go - I am frustrated!

Dark Angel - I Will Remember You

Back to creating my own stuff after completing the 15 Day challenge.  Did this one on my iPad pro with a lot of different apps.

15 Day Challenge Slideshow

So I decided to make a video/slideshow of all 15 images together.  I used iMovie to make the video - I know nothing about iMovie but somehow managed to make the video.  Full screen it looks awesome. Pretty easy and interesting - I need to learn more about iMovie. Something else to take up my time - good thing fall and winter are coming

Growth

Day 15 of Brook Shaden’s 15 Day Challenge
Growth
And so it ends. I loved the challenges and loved having a theme for each image. I am ready to get back to experimenting and doing my own work but I really did learn a lot. I think I have learned to be more thoughtful in planning my images. I also learned that I like to have more time to refine and add stuff to my work before I post it. It has been a great 15 days! And yea that is me at lunch.

Flying - Even Angels Stop To Rest

Day 14 of Brook Shaden’s 15 Day Challenge

Flying - Even Angels Stop To Rest

The challenge was to make interesting wings.  I made mine with paint  and spatter.  I liked the idea of the angel taking a time out to rest a little before she flies off.  I do feel it was too easy to make an image of an angel - my first thought was a flying pig or fish but that will have to be for next time.

Forgotten - Books

Day 13 of Brooke Shaden’s 15 Day Challenge

Forgotten - Books

Between Kindles, Nooks and Tablets people have forgotten about reading actual books.  The challenge today was forgotten using paper - so my book pages are the paper.  I could have used any reference for this image - newspaper, notes, cards, letters, etc. all forgotten in this modern electronic age. Created on my iPad.

Pressure

Day 12 of Brooke Shaden's 15 Day Challenge
Pressure of Living Underwater
I had a lot of ideas for this challenge but not a lot of time to develop them. This was not my first thought but it is where I ended up. Sometimes the pressure just gets so great we need to escape what is confining us. Model - Pixabay.

Diversity - Herbs

Day 11 of Brooke Shaden’s 15 Day Challenge
Diversity - Herbs
In an effort not to repeat myself or to rely on what is easy I decided to challenge myself today and create an image without a model. My other challenge was to create it on my iPad with some of the new apps I just purchased. This is a photo I took in the beginning of the summer at a nursery near my house. I loved the display they had set up. I wanted a painterly quality to the finished piece and I wanted to keep the feeling of the sunlight. I like to actually make my art so I do not like to rely on an app or filter to do the work. I like to manipulate with my Apple Pencil, make a number images in different apps and then combine everything. I really liked making this image and want to explore these apps more in depth.

Being Alive

Day 10 of Brooke Shaden's 15 day challenge

Being Alive

We can never be truly alive until we break free from the ropes that bind us. Created in Photoshop model credit mjranum Deviantart. I was running out of time today but would like to develop this theme at a later date.

Curiosity

Day 9 of Brooke Shaden's 15 day challenge

Curiosity

I have been a Photoshop user for a LOT of years. Last year I bought an iPad and I am determined to use it to make art. There are so many apps out there and I am curious as to what a lot of them do. I created this image using my newest app purchase and a few others. I am wanting a more painterly/artsy look to my images and this gives a great watercolor look and feel. I do not have a lot of apps but I do want to know about the ones I did buy - how they work, what they can do and how to combine the results. For me this girl just looks curious!

We all have the potential for greatness - sometimes all it needs to grow is a little quite time and planning. Model credit AuroraDreams Deviantart

Time

Day 7 of Brooke Shaden's 15 day challenge

Time

The whole idea of time is very hard for us to understand.  The older you get the faster it passes.  I tried to portray the idea that from youth to death is just a blink of the eye - time is running out for us all.  What a happy thought!

Created on my iPad.  I think I am reverting back to the easy images and I do what this to be a challenge so I may need to think harder.

Beauty - The Sea

Day 6 of Brooke Shaden's 15 day challenge

Beauty - The Sea

What I feel is beautiful is nature particular the sea.  I live by the ocean but I am not englamoured with a beautiful sunny beach day. I love wet stormy days by the sea.  The smell of salt air and the cool dampness seeping into my skin.  Beauty to me is a stormy, foggy day.

Broken City - Shattered Dreams

Day 5 of Brooke Shaden's 15 day challenge

Broken City - Shattered Dreams

This was not what I initially thought I would do - my first thought was a broken heart but this is where I ended up. I am playing catch up today. Created in Photoshop.

Spellbound - The Moon

Day 4 of Brooke Shaden's 15 day challenge
Spellbound - The Moon

I find the moon fascinating and mesmerizing and I could look at it for hours spellbound. I am a moon child! Created on my iPad. I am trying to just make quick images for this challenge - not quite as finished as I usually do.

Endings

Day 3 of Brooke Shaden's 15 day challenge

Endings - Door

My third challenge and this one was to portray endings using a door. My idea is that we are all prisoners of time so it is best to step through the door of possibilities while we still have time. Model Colby Files.

Sadness

Day 2 of Brooke Shaden's 15 day challenge

Emotion - Sadness

My second challenge and this one was to show emotion and not show faces.  Well I do have a bit of a face in this one.  I have been doing a lot of images partially cut off and figured this would work well for this challenge.  Created on my iPad.

Rebirth

My first image of the Brooke Shaden 15 day challenge.  The theme was rebirth. To me nothing says rebirth like the cycles of nature especially the growth and reseeding of flowers and weeds.  I guess I will consider the close up and spacing of the pod on my canvas as my enclosed space.

My intent for myself for the 15 day challenge is to use my iPad for the images.  I tend to do a lot of “people” images so this was a nice change for me.  We will see if I actually do an image a day but I do know I will complete all 15 challenges!
