What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted

Model - Michelle photo Colby Files
Background - Three photos from unsplash combined
Various textures - my collection and AWAKE content

Created on my iPad pro using iColorama, MetaBrush and Repix.  Still playing and still learning - I am getting close to the look I want but not quite there yet.  I want to lose the photo look and have a more painterly look.

Pink Flowers

My photo from the Philadelphia Flower Show
Created on my iPad pro using iColorama, MetaBrush

Still playing with my iPad but I am all over the place trying this and that.  I need to get serious and do some actual work that I like. It is tough when you are learning and it is very hard ti keep track of what you did in iColorama.

The weird thing about creating images on my iPad is that I don't know if they are good or awful. In Photoshop I KNEW!!!! Still learning and it isn't easy.

Crow

Created on my iPad from a photo using iColorama, MetaBrush, Repix. I am warming up to my iPad but I have to say iColorama is a bear to learn - so much trial and error. I guess I am learning so it is not wasted effort.

Realm Of Shadows

Model - Crissa photo by Colby Files
Background - I used 2 photos plus a full moon photo combined to create the BG

Created on my iPad in MetaBrush and iColorama, Repix, Leonardo.  I am warming up to my iPad - still a huge learning curve.  I finally figured out that it is just a tool to get the job done.  What I do like is I get different results than I would with Photoshop.  I always wanted a more artsy/painterly look and with iColorama I can get this.

I saved a number of different images and combined them in Leonardo masking and using the parts I wanted for the finished image. I want to start using my iPad more for my digital art and I want a more artsy/painterly look. I am getting there!

Barns

So I thought I would try one of my PA barn photos in iColorama.  I made a ton of these and combined them.  I love the painterly quality - used a number of effects under the Style menu.  I still have no idea what I am doing but it is fun and you get interesting results.

I was thinking about this today and I usually work in Photoshop and compose complex images with many layers.  I thought I wanted to do that on my iPad too but have decided that if I can do that in PS and do it successfully, then do it there.  I will be using the iPad for painterly/artsy pieces.  Things that are fun and not all that complex.  I have to look at my iPad and the apps as just more tools and I wouldn't hammer a nail with a sponge or wash a window with a hammer.  What I am saying is use the best tool for the job

iPad Work

So I have decided I want to do some work on my iPad.  I am just uninspired right now and sick of the same old stuff in Photoshop.  I have my iPad over a year now and have never really used it seriously. I have taken a few classes in mobile art but nothing seems to stick.  The image above I did a few days ago and as I described it I had no idea what I was doing - just winged it.  I said "I did this image last night using - iColorama, Repix, Leonardo and Stackables. I had no idea what I was doing or even how I ended up with this image".

This image was almost done completely in iColorama. Just getting to know what is what. I can see this can become addictive. I saved 4 or 5 different images and then combined them in Leonardo. I also ran it through a few filters in Repix. I have no idea what I am doing yet and that is hard for me being the control freak that I am, but it is fun.

Did this image today. More play in iColorama. Original photo Colby Files. I did try to keep track of what I was doing but I saved so many copies of this image that now I am not sure what ones I used. I did use a lot of the items under Style and also Brush. I also desaturated the image in one of the presets in the Tone section. I liked it better in B&W than color. I ended up assembling the layers and combining them in Leonardo and did a little bit in Repix. Another hard thing for me coming from Photoshop is on my Mac I have access to all my files - on my iPad I kind of think what I want to do and then bring over what I think I will want to use. A lot to get used to but I am trying.

I have decided that I want to work with iColorama for now.  I want to get to know how to use it and see what it can do.  It is a steep learning curve for me.  Maybe I will work on some landscapes next.  I think my major problem is I LOVE to use lots of layers and on my iPad it is not quite as easy as in Photoshop.

Djinn

Background - Mischief Circus with textures added
Model - Ariana photo Colby Files
Textures, smoke, sparkles, horns, moon, vessel, snakes, mist hair strands - my collection, Mischief Circus and AWAKE content

Djinn - More commonly known as a Genie, Djinn are supernatural creatures in Arab folklore and Islamic teachings which occupy a parallel world to that of mankind. Like humans, they can be good, evil, or neutrally benevolent. According to the Qu'ran, the Djinn were created by Allah from a smokeless fire.

I have not been making much art lately - juts not inspired.  Working a bit on my iPad - I did make this in Photoshop.  I want to use my iPad more and get to know the apps but I always come back to PS
